Merry Christmas!

It had officially been the best Christmas, yet!
I spent the whole day with mi familia, got some pretty cool stuff, and just got to relax!

Some gifts on the list :
* $200 for Maverik. I am so grateful for this! Now I don't need to worry AS much about gas! I love my parents!
* New scriptures! This way, I have a Seminary and home set... I'm so excited!
* A WATCH! Now I can time my splits and miles!
* I got the best present from my brother ... A SING-A-MAJIG! They are these cool little creature things that make random noise..I love it!
* A homemade bag from Gracie..It's hot pink with a black and white bow on it.. Purely amazing, Little Sister!
* The funnest Scrabble block game thingie.
* Make-up, candy, and soda, of course!
* "Santa" got me What Happens In Vegas .. I LOVE THAT MOVIE!
* An IHOME! Now I can actually listen to my ipod!
* Much, much more!

All in all, it was the best Christmas I could as for! I love my friends, family, and all that I have.

Thank you to my parents for putting up with me for another year. I wouldn't be me without you two! Much love!

What's been new with me, you ask?

I’M BACK! 

Hey bloggers! I'm back! It's been awhile since my last post, but that's because much has happened in the household!

*To start things off... My cousins are here! We've been partying it up pretty hard.

We are all kinda dorks..but I wouldn't have it any other way. 

On Thursday, we had a photoshoot for GimmeClips. My mothers company. The four girls, Jes, Holly, Gracie, and myself, all went to down to get pictures taken for the new products.

I don't think I can express to you how much I love David Archuleta. One of my closest friends, Mikayla, took me to go see him and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir perform. Such an amazing night and experience!

Soccer.Has.Officially.STARTED. We won our first game, 9-1. I had two goals, both pretty sweet. This upcoming week we play the other half of our team...Should be interesting!

Think about it.. What do we spend our time doing? Do we use our leisure time to rest, exercise, help out, or do we just do pointless things that exceed an appropriate time limit? I've been paying attention to what I do now..Wake up, go to school, maybe run after, come home, watch t.v., blog, clean a bit, and maybe homework. I feel like I'm still wasting time though. Trying to manage time is a big issue. Hopefully I can figure it out?

Time Management Tips For High School Students

It's 10:00 -- Do you know where your homework is?

Does it seem like there's never enough time in the day to get everything done? Feel like your always running late? Here are some tips for taking control of your time and organizing your life. 

• Make a "To Do" List Every Day : Put things that are most important at the top and do them first. If it's easier, use a planner to track all of your tasks. And don't forget to reward yourself for your accomplishments. 
• Use Spare Minutes Wisely : Get some reading done on the bus ride home from school, for example, and you'll kill two birds with one stone. 
• It's Okay to say "No" : If your boss asks yout o work on a Thursday night and you have mutual or a final exam the next morning, realize that it's okay to say no. Keep your short- and long-term priorities in mind. 
• Find The Right Time : You'll work more efficiently if you figure out when you do your best work. For example, if your brain handles math better in the afternoon, don't wait to do it until late at night. Have all your weekend homework done by Saturday. Leave Sunday for church, rest, and time with family. 
• Review Your Notes Every Day : you'll reinforce what you've learned, so you need less time to study. You'll also be ready if your teacher calls on you or gives a pop quiz.
• Get a Good Night's Sleep : Running on empty makes the day seem longer and your tasks seem more difficult. 
• Communicate Your Schedule to Others : If phone calls are proving to be a distraction, tell your friends that you take social calls from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. It may sound silly, but it helps. If you're on the computer to do research, avoid e-mails, IM's, and Facebook, until your through. It'll be something to look forward to once you're done. 
• Become a Taskmaster : Figure out how much free time you have each week. Give yourself a time budget and plan your activities accordingly. 
• Don't Waste Time Agonizing : Have you ever wasted an entire evening by worrying about something that you're supposed to be doing? Was it worth it? Instead of agonizing and procrastinating, JUST DO IT.
• Keep Things in Perspective : Setting goals that are unrealistic sets your up for failure. While it's good to set high goals for yourself, be sure not to overdo it. Set goals that are difficult yet reachable.

First official snow of  the season. Does that mean winter is here? Sadly, yes. Blizzard warning for today, let's hope this goes over well!

Ah, I love my friends. Hayley's older sister is home, and we were at her homecoming. Outside, with snow, and six teenagers? Of course we will do something random!

Things are gonna get better..right?

Interesting weekend. I gotta start off by thanking a friend of mine. I was having a rough week. Dealing with friends and such. Everyone loves friend drama..Right?! NOT. By Saturday afternoon, I was at a breaking point. I texted an old friend of mine, Brianna Brough, and went to her home and chatted. I go way back with Brianna. She was a laurel in the Young Womens when I was a little beehive. She is also my best friends older sister. She is a really important person in my life. She has always been there for me and I can talk to her about anything. So I was struggling with friends. Who to hang out with, why it wasn't working with people, and all that. She really helped me out and I want her to know that I am so grateful that she was willing to help me and had great advice. I love you Bri! I think I know what to do now...slowly drifting from your friends kind of sucks, but things are gonna get better. I know it! If my friends are reading this...I love you guys, don't forget it. I'm here for you through anything that happens.

On a brighter note:

It was kinda a great weekend! Friday, I hung out with Mikayla all day! And she gave me a bajillion songs for my I-pod...THANKS KAYLA! So we hung out, then went and met up with the guys, watched 17 Again and it was hilarious! At one point..Me and Jordan Cobabe were "fighting" and he picked me up, threw me over his shoulder, and threw me down on a LoveSac...It was so funny! Then on Saturday, I got to hang out with my best friend, J. Twin! She did my hair for later that night, (movie with some friends). 

She was crimmping my hair! Aren't her teeth so pretty?! She just got her braces off! 

But yes, that's my weekend. Hopefully this week is good!

Mommy got tickets to go to the So You Think You Can Dance Tour! It was amazing!

We spent the night at Robintino's for dinner, then went to the tour. Best night ever!

Best weekend...EVER!

I LOVE MY LIFE!

Pretty much, this weekend was amazing! I went everywhere, did everything, and saw everyone!

Thursday : School got out, which was amazing in and of it's self. Hung out with my besties, went to Black Island Farm with the whole group. Saw Sydnie, Daren, and Bryan there. Talked for awhile...so fun!

Friday : Went to Frightmares which was so fun! We went as a group of 8, so fairly big. It was way fun and I'm glad I went! Slept over at the twinners house. Such exciting conversations!

Saturday : Slept in..FINALLY! Went out and got doughnuts for breakfast/lunch. Came home and got all dressed up. Watched Little Rascals with Josh and Jordan...SO FUNNY! "Otay!" Was a total jumper yesterday.      Was at Jordan's house, then mine, then Krispy Kreme, Kohls, Josh's, Austin's, Hayley's mom's house, Syd's house with her and Daren and Bryan, went to Ice Berg with them, then went to Sammy's house for a party. Met up with Trevor Dickson and Mikayla. Trevor took me out on a mini date to go get Slurpee's, went back to the party, then me and Mikayla left, went to McDonalds, went to my house, went to go pick Zach Lamb up, headed back to my place to hang out, drove both Mikayla and Zach home, and came back...Lots of driving!

Sunday : Stake Conference.

Let's just say, I love my life and the people in it. More to come later!

Yes, this is my cute little license plate! And yes...it really does say, "SHORTNY". I'm short...my name is Courtney..I think you can figure that out! But this is the back to my cute little Grand Cherokee Jeep. It's a 1998, and in impeccable shape! I have my wonderful parents to thank for this wonderful car! I'm so excited to start driving it! And on that note...I GET MY LICENSE WEDNESDAY! Crazy, I know! I'm a good driver, I promise! 

Yup...I'm 16 now!

So..my birthday was Thursday and I'm officially 16 years old now!
Thursday: Went to the mall with my best friend ever, Jordan.
Friday: Joshua Parker Brough took me to my favorite restaurant, Robintino's, for my first date and birthday present. . . Yummiest meal of my life!
Saturday: Daddy took me on a crazy drive out to Weber then we just drove around for awhile. Then I came home and my best friends surprised me with a party! My mom set it all up, and my friends helped her with it. AMAZING!

Untitled? Too much going on!

OH MY GOSH. I'm so ready for today to be over! Most likely not gonna race tomorrow. I"m bummed. I was actually getting excited for the STATE RACE!!! Oh well. Then MATH CLASS was  total let down. I've missed for the last couple days for being sick and having Regions for Cross Country, and when I needed help from my teacher..didn't get much. Hopefully my friends can help me catch up? Because...YIKES! I need it!

No, I don't have any idea who said this. All I know, is that it's completely true. You gotta learn to take life in slowly. Yeah, changes are going to come, some of them you won't like. Changing schools, losing or making new friends, and a heck of a lot of other stuff. You gotta know that's it's all just changing at a pace and you shouldn't rush things. If you take it slow, you learn a lot about yourself, and a lot about the situation Taking it "yard by yard" makes life more difficult. Your not giving yourself time to grow and experience new things.

There are my words of inspiration for the day. I hope it helps someone out there!

PRACTICE TODAY!!!!
If you can't tell..I'm excited. It's our second Outlaw practice. I haven't mentioned it yet, but I play for the Ogden Outlaws. They are the best team ever! I love the girls, our coach is the bomb, and it's way fun. We are good, and getting better with practice. Sure, I miss high school soccer, but comp. soccer is the way to be. I love my team, and I'm so grateful for them and the work they put into the game.
I play middy (Center and wing) and then occasionally forward. Left side wing is my position though. I love it! I don't know if it's the running up and down the field, or the power you feel you have when you cross a ball perfectly into the center. I just know I love it, and it's the one place on the field that I'm comfortable.

Songs make a difference

This has been one of the weirdest weekends of my life! Saturday was great, then a song was brought up, (Just Friends - Gavin Degraw) by a friend of mine, which started off a lot of drama and fighting. Not the best way to end your weekend, or night. Then tonight, and old friend of mine randomly texted me. He said that he was sorry and felt that he needed to apologize for some previous drama we had. He sent me a song, (Untitled - Blink 182) and said that it's the reason he felt the need to apologize.

Seems like songs are the main topic of this weekend for me..Crazy stuff!

The best girls ever!

So yesterday, Friday, we went over to our neighbors house. Her name is Becky and she is the coolest lady around! She lets us just come chill at her house, order pizza, and watch "Say Yes To The Dress" with her. These girls all around me are just my best friends on the planet. I love them! It's Ciera, Bailee, Me, Alyssa, Jordan, and Hayley.

Yes, I'm here! Everyone has little blogs, and I need to start writing a journal. Why not on a computer?
I'll just start with who I am! I'm Courtney Lyn, Sophmore, soccer player, runner, and ready for anything fun. Many know me and think I'm loud... and not gonna lie. I really am. I love who I am and I love my friends and family!

This year is the first year of High School. It's pretty insane! I can't decide if I like it or not. Sure, it's been tons of fun and all, but I miss being a little kid. I did my road test today for drivers ed...I PASSED! Only missed 3 points in all, which is fairly good! Party tonight? Can't wait(: Pictures up soon(:
